InvestorMap / Free Initial Assessment

Start with a free initial assessment

The InvestorMap process begins with a free initial assessment. It is where we consider — together, and at no cost — whether your business has a credible investable proposition and whether InvestorMap is likely to be the right route for you. It is the sensible first step whether you are a founder at an early stage, a business owner exploring growth capital, or a management team preparing an established SME to raise.

What the assessment covers

In a short conversation we look at:

  • Your business and proposition — what you do, and why an investor would want to understand more.
  • Your funding requirement — roughly how much you are looking to raise, and what for.
  • Fit with our process — whether InvestorMap's staged approach suits your situation, and whether there appears to be a credible investable proposition.

There is no cost for this stage, and no charge to find out whether we are the right fit. The wider engagement only begins if there is a fit and you choose to proceed.

What happens next

If there is a fit, the process moves into the first paid stage:

  1. Free initial assessment — is there a credible investable proposition, and is InvestorMap the right route? (You are here.)
  2. Business Review & Teaser Pitch (£995) — business review, teaser pitch creation, investor matching against our UK and international database, a targeted shortlist, a managed approach to suitable investors, initial-contact management and testing for genuine investor interest.
  3. Pitch Deck Review & One-to-One Coaching (£3,495) — where genuine investor interest is shown, we prepare you to pitch that audience with confidence.

A success fee of 5% of the investment value applies only if investment is successfully secured.

Why start here

Approaching investors before you know whether the proposition is investable — or whether you're approaching the right investors — wastes time and money. The free assessment makes sure the effort that follows is pointed in the right direction. To understand more about the process first, see How InvestorMap works or Find Investors.

Frequently asked questions

Is the assessment really free?

Yes. The initial assessment is free and carries no cost. If there is a fit, the first paid stage is the £995 Business Review & Teaser Pitch.

What do I need to prepare?

Nothing formal. A clear sense of what your business does, roughly how much you want to raise and what for is enough to have a useful first conversation.

What happens after the assessment?

If there is a fit and you choose to proceed, we begin the £995 Business Review & Teaser Pitch stage — investor matching, shortlisting and a managed approach. Where genuine interest is shown, the process moves into pitch preparation.
